Leatheresque is a small family-owned business operating from New York. It all started when I, Fizza Sadiq, mother of two young kids, was looking for an anniversary gift for my husband. I wanted something exquisite yet functional that my husband could cherish for a long time to come. I quickly realized that it was not possible without breaking the budget of my young family.
This experience put us on an entrepreneurial journey to create an ESG-conscious business that is passionate about leather. We aim to sell beautiful yet practical leather products that exude luxury without the designer bag pricetag. We source our leather from tanneries that recycle the waste, especially water. Our manufacturing plant pays fair wages to artisans, who all come from impoverished backgrounds, and is helping lift their living standard. We collaborate with other small businesses in our value chain and try to pass on the cost savings to our customers without compromising on the quality of our products.
